WE are the GLA – strong together!

Our departments

From service engineering to project management: we work together and ensure that all work steps run smoothly every day.

INBOUND Goods receipt & storage

Our inbound department manages the daily receipt of goods and ensures that they are unloaded and stored smoothly. Every day, around 4,000 pallets are received, divided into container goods and palletised trucks. The incoming goods are stored in our state-of-the-art 83,000 m² distribution centre in Kamen and prepared for further processing.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT Loading aids & disposal

Our Operational Support department systematically provides up to 6,000 loading aids (LHM), including Euro pallets, disposable pallets and roll cages, every day and manages them efficiently. In addition to providing consumables, the department is also responsible for recycling sorted recyclable materials.

OUTBOUND Goods dispatch & loading

Our outbound department is responsible for the daily loading of around 4,000 pallets onto approx. 125 trucks. The pick-ups coordinated by our planning unit are carried out smoothly thanks to efficient handling of Europe-wide scheduled services.

CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT (CPU) - Order picking & inventory management

The CPU is the heart of our warehouse. Every day, up to 300,000 boxes are picked here for over 3,400 TEDi stores in 15 countries. A two-shift operation with up to 400 pickers and forklift drivers ensures efficient processing.

SERVICE MAINTENANCE - Maintenance & Servicing

Smooth operations require well-maintained technology. Our service maintenance department takes care of the maintenance of over 400 industrial trucks, including pallet trucks, reach trucks, long-distance trucks and loading technology. The team also looks after the six winding lines and seven turntable winders, which ensure the professional and safe wrapping of around 4,000 pallets every day.

FREIGHT MANAGEMENT - Transport logistics & delivery performance

Freight Management is responsible for planning, organising and executing all transport processes. The department's goal is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods and products. Its tasks include:

  1. Tendering of transport services for main and subsequent transport – awarding and managing transport orders.
  2. Area structuring – Optimisation of transport routes based on geographical regions and markets.
  3. Contract negotiations – management and coordination of all contracts with external transport service providers.
  4. Verification of delivery performance – Ensuring on-time, high-quality execution by our current 54 carriers in 15 countries.
  5. Transport planning and execution – Operational implementation and continuous optimisation of transport activities.
